Engineering Studies
Study period: 3 years
REQUIREMENTS for all dual study programs include very good comprehension, stamina, discipline, and personal responsibility as well as a high willingness to learn. Team spirit and a basic interest in digital processes and economic relationships are also essential.
Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.)
Konstruktion und Entwicklung
The study of mechanical engineering with specialization in design and development teaches subjects that enable students to sketch ideas, to conceive, design and construct machines or components and to further develop products. In the first academic year, students acquire basic technical skills and knowledge, such as technical drawing, metal technology, materials technology and machine engineering. In the second academic year, students are introduced to engineering work in production, work planning and design, and the knowledge acquired in the first academic year is further intensified. In the third and final academic year, the focus is on working independently on tasks in a wide variety of development and design areas. The theoretical contents, such as development technology or simulation technology, show a clear direction.
REQUIREMENTS include good mathematical and physical understanding, logical thinking and spatial imagination. Equally important is an increased interest in technical processes and creativity.
Possible WORKING AREAS of our graduates include testing, research and development, contract or tool holder design or quality assurance.
Industrial Engineering (B.Eng.)
The study of industrial engineering covers the basics of mechanical engineering and business administration. During the basic study period, the company focuses on mechanics, materials science and machine science as well as operational processes. In the area of business administration, the focus is on law, information technology and languages. Later, the students will specialize in production and logistics or international marketing and technical sales. In order to promote communication skills with foreign customers and partners, additional foreign language courses are provided.
REQUIREMENTS include good mathematical and physical understanding, increased interest in technical processes and spatial imagination. Equally important are team spirit and an interest in economic relationships.
Possible WORKING AREAS of our graduates are in almost all economic and technical areas of the company, such as in sales, technical controlling, product and project management, inventory management and human resources.
Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.)
Produktionstechnik
Production engineering, as the most important part of the value chain and the associated assembly of machines and plants, is the subject of the mechanical engineering study course specializing in production engineering. Which production factors are critical? How do you achieve the production targets you have set for the company? Which production systems are appropriate for which use? In order to find the appropriate answers here, the student is given the appropriate tools through a basic study program in topics such as production engineering, design theory or computer science and a specification towards production processes or production technology.
INDEX offers students a balanced training program, tailored to the needs, of the diverse machining operations as well as machine and component assembly. The basis is a comprehensive introduction to mechanics. Later, they apply the acquired knowledge to practical work in planning and controlling manufacturing and assembly processes, integrating new technologies and introducing new processes.
REQUIREMENTS include good mathematical and physical understanding, logical thinking, and spatial imagination. Equally important is an increased interest in technical processes and organization.
WORKING AREAS of our graduates include project management, production planning and control as well as in development and construction.
Electrical Engineering (B.Eng.)
Automatisierung
The study of electrical engineering with specialization in automation encompasses interdisciplinary basic technical disciplines such as mathematics, computer science, control engineering, metrology as well as scientific topics in automation systems, microcomputer technology, sensors/actuators, and technical management. To promote communication skills with foreign customers, part of the courses at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Stuttgart are taught in a foreign language.
One focus of the in-company training is on control engineering. This course examines the functionality and intelligent interaction of individual components in partially highly complex and very different plants, focusing on topics such as system programming, controlling the machine intelligence, developing technical processes, and the use of computer systems in plants.
The knowledge acquired qualifies the students to work independently on electrical engineering projects, to work on a wide variety of control technology topics or to test new electrical components on machines and systems.
As an innovative company, we offer vocational training and support our students in making goal-oriented decisions and participating responsibly in the development of the company.
REQUIREMENTS include a strong interest in natural sciences and computer technology, understanding of mathematics and physics, and a passion for solving tricky problems.
Possible WORKING AREAS of our graduates are mainly in control engineering, development and design and in production planning.
